9/10/21 Friday Update

Good afternoon Alcott School Community,
What a great virtual Back-To-School Evening yesterday.  Although it was hard not to see our families in person, our team did our best to show you how committed we are to you and your children.  Thank you for participating in our virtual event.  My opening presentation is attached for any community member who was unable to attend.Back To School presentation 2021.pptx
Each year the district is responsible for collecting information from our students’ families to support the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) process. The Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) provide our schools support they receive to allow all students to succeed to their greatest potential.
We need your help:   we ask parents and families to complete a very short questionnaire that increases the district’s opportunity to receive funds from the state. The information is only collected for this process and will not be used for any other purpose. We ask that you sign-up for Parent Connect as soon as possible, if you’ve not already done so, and complete the short survey before the September 17, 2021, deadline. By doing so you will not only be supporting the district’s efforts, but increasing the chances of your child’s school receiving more of this valuable funding.
Please use the following links (Spanish and English) to complete this survey.Enter LCFF Data in PowerSchool Parent Portal.pdf Enter LCFF Data in PowerSchool Parent Portal_spanish.pdf Letter - Parents LCFF 2021-22 (1).pdf Letter - Parents LCFF 2021-22 Spanish.pdf Parent_Portal_First_Time_ Access_Instructions.pdf PowerSchool-Parent Portal Flyer-Getting Started-ES.pdf
Next week we will begin a new morning arrival process.  As you know, our grass needs attention and I have contacted the district to address this concern.  We need a beautiful front lawn and next week, the district will begin a new irrigation system that will require us to stay off the grass area.  All 1-5 graders will be escorted to the blacktop in the morning where we will have supervision until our classrooms open at 8:15.  All pre-school, TK, Kinder and our Kinder/1st combo class will continue to line up in the front of the school on the sidewalk areas.  Remember:  parents will not be able to enter the campus.  I appreciate your understanding.
Our additional minimum days are listed on our website and our first non-Wednesday is this Friday.  Don't forget to have your child picked up at 12:45.
Have a great weekend and thank you for being the best community.
